About New Artillery

New Artillery is written exclusively by Sebastian Stirling. I am a stay-at-home dad to two kids, two cats, and a dog. I own a lot of records and sporadically get the impulse to write about them, and every now and then I actually have the time to do so. Everybody loves a fake Q&A, so here goes.

Will you write about my music?

I’ll be entirely honest here: probably not.

What about my concert? Will you attend and write about that?

Even less likely! It takes a lot to get me out of the house to see bands I already enjoy.

So, you’re a curmudgeon?

That’s a gentle way of putting it, yes.

Why bother, then?

I get a tremendous amount out of music, and find that formulating my thoughts on bands, records, and songs is a productive exercise.

Do you just listen to the same bands you listened to ten years ago?

My taste changes gradually, like a glacier. So to answer the question, sure.

Does this site use hilariously deprecated HTML?
